6:25 p.m. By a vote of 53-43, the Senate did not invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 3012, Johnson Shutdown Fairness Act, upon reconsideration.

1:29 p.m. Senator Cruz spoke on persecuted Christians in China. S.Res.463 Expressing condemnation of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of religious minority groups. The resolution was agreed to by voice vote. He then spoke on the Medal of Honor and H.R. 695, Medal of Honor Act, was passed by unanimous consent.
