At approximately 5:30 p.m. cloture will ripen on the nomination of John Thomas Shepard, of Arkansas, to be US District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas. There will be pro forma session only on the following days with no business expected:

2:30 a.m. Majority Leader Thune wrapped up. He filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. John Thomas Shepard, of Arkansas, to be US District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.
  2. Christopher R. Wolfe, of Texas, to be US District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
  • Received first reading: S. 4277, a bill to make further appropriations for US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
  • Agreed to by UC: S. Res. 664, a resolution to constitute the majority party’s membership on certain committees for the 119th Congress or until their successors are chosen.
  • Agreed to by UC: S. Res. 647, National Osceola Turkey Day.

2:20 a.m. Senator Schmitt spoke on immigration and ICE. He then asked unanimous consent to pass S. 4277 to fund ICE and CPB; Senator Kim objected.

2:19 a.m. By a voice vote, the Senate passed H.R. 7147, as amended.

2:18 a.m. The Senate has reconvened and has resumed consideration of H.R. 7147.
