6:48 p.m. The Senate adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd. The next vote will occur at 11:30 a.m. on the Meyers nomination. During wrap up, the Senate unanimously approved: S. Con. Res. 45, to provide for the use of the catafalque situated in the crypt in the rotunda of the Capitol to be used for the memorial service for the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

6:26 p.m. By a vote of 65 to 25, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Edward Meyers to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.

       

5:30 p.m. Roll call vote began on cloture on the Meyers nomination.

5:22 p.m. Senator Coons spoke about the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg.

4:31 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg. Senator Durbin also spoke on the “McConnell Rule” relating to filling SCOTUS vacancies.

4:20 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg. Senator Cornyn spoke about the Senate’s advice and consent role. Senator Cornyn spoke supporting the Jenna Quinn law.

3:46 p.m. Senator Leahy spoke about the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg. Senator Leahy also spoke about the SCOTUS nomination process.

3:29 p.m. DL Schumer spoke about the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and on SCOTUS nomination process during an election year.

3:11 p.m. ML McConnell spoke in tribute to the life of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. ML McConnell also spoke on the confirmation process and history of previous nominations.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on cloture on the Meyers nomination.
