6:55 p.m. The Senate has adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25th and will resume consideration of the Feldman nomination. At 2:15 p.m. there will be 2 votes:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination Peter A. Feldman, to be Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for the remainder of the term expiring October 26, 2019
  2. Cloture on the nomination of Peter A. Feldman to be a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a term of seven years from October 27, 2019.

  • R. 2259, The Sam Farr and Nick Castle Peace Corps Reform Act of 2018, was agreed to by voice vote.
  • Res. 643, Honoring the memory of the victims of the brutal and senseless attack at a country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, 1 year ago, was agreed to by unanimous consent.
  • Res. 644, Recognizing the significant contribution of the Country Music Association and designating September 25th, 2018, “Country Music Association Day”, was agreed to by unanimous consent.
  • Res. 645, Designating September 2018 as “National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month”, was agreed to by unanimous consent.

6:49 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the Feldman nomination by a tally of 76 to 18.

6:02 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to invoke cloture on Peter Feldman to be Commissioner  of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for the remainder of the term expiring October 26, 2019.

6:02 p.m The Wolcott nomination was confirmed by a tally of 75-19.

Senators voting against: 17 Democrats (Booker, Cardin, Durbin, Feinstein, Gillibrand, Harris, Heinrich, Leahy, Markey, Reed, Schatz, Stabenow, Udall, Van Hollen, Warren, Whitehouse and Wyden), 1 Republican (Heller), 1 Independents (Sanders).

5:31 p.m. Roll call vote began on the Walcott nomination.

4:34 p.m. Senator Schumer spoke about the Kavanaugh nomination.

3:46 p.m. Senator Boozman spoke about rice.

3:36 p.m. Senator Kennedy spoke about floods.

3:23 p.m. Senator Hatch spoke about the Kavanaugh nomination.

3:08 p.m. Senator McConnell spoke abut the Kavanaugh nomination. He spoke about appropriations and pending nominations. He paid tribute to Senator Sullivan for his attainment of the rank of Marine Corps Reserve colonel.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 5:30 p.m.

At 5:30p.m., the Senate will conduct two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Jackie Walcott (to be Representative of the US to the International Atomic Energy Agency and to be Representative of the US to the Vienna Office of the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador)
  2. Cloture on Peter Feldman to be a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for the remainder of the term expiring October 26, 2019.
