4:57 p.m. The Senate adjourned until Monday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. ML McConnell announced that the next roll call vote will be on cloture on the nomination of Stuart Duncan, LA, to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the 5th Circuit.

3:32 p.m. Senator Sullivan spoke about the Alaskan of the week.

3:06 p.m. Senator Reed spoke about Russia and the 2016 election.

2:45 p.m. Senator Merkley paid tribute to Senator Duckworth and then discussed the Royhinga crisis.

2:43 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell filed cloture on the nomination of Stuart Duncan to be a US Circuit judge for the fifth circuit.

2:42 p.m. The nomination was confirmed on a party line vote of 50-49; with Senator McCain not voting.

1:46 p.m. Roll call vote began on the nomination on the Bridenstine nomination.

1:38 p.m. Senator Burr spoke about the Pompeo nomination.

12:59 p.m. Senator Casey spoke about Senator Duckworth’s new baby and Syria.

12:40 p.m. Senator Heller paid tribute to Major Stephen Del Bagno.

  • The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and resume consideration of the nomination of James Bridenstine to serve as Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, post-cloture.

 

  • At 1:45 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Bridenstine nomination.
