6:30 p.m. Senator Moran spoke on the importance of tribal sovereignty.

6:15 p.m. Leader McConnell asked UC to confirm three nominations en bloc (cal # 155, 261, 469). they were confirmed by voice vote. He also asked that after Senator Moran speaks the Senate adjourn until 10:00 am Wednesday and resume H.R. 2579.

5:00 p.m. Senator Peters spoke on communities without access to clean water.

4:30 p.m. Senator Reed spoke on immigration.

2:30 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on immigration.

2:24 p.m. Senator Murray spoke on immigration.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from the recess.

12:30 p.m. The Senate recesssed to accomodate the weekly caucus luncheons.

12:22 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke about immigration.

12:15 p.m. Senator Thune spoke about tax reform.

12:08 p.m. ML McConnell spoke about immigration and asked unanimous consent that at 2:15 p.m. the motion to proceed be agreed to, then that the Republicans offer amendment #1948 and the Democrats offer an amendment and that there be a vote on each at 3:30 p.m. Senator Schumer objected.

11:24 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke about the False Claims Act of 1986.

10:46 a.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke about immigration, public works and the president’s budget.

10:31 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about immigration.

10:11 a.m. The Senate resumed consideration of the motion to proceed to the immigration bill.

10:02 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about the immigration debate and the new tax law.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R. 2579 [the legislative vehicle for immigration legislation], post-cloture.

The motion to proceed to H.R. 2579 is expected to be adopted during Tuesday’s session.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons.
