3:02 p.m. Majority Leader Thune filed cloture on S. Res. 520, An executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.

3:00 p.m. By a vote of 60-39, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Lindsey Ann Freeman to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

  • Democrat/Independent Senators who voted in favor – Durbin, Hassan, Kaine, King, Peters, Rosen, Shaheen and Whitehouse.
  • Senator Cruz did not vote.

2:15 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Lindsey Ann Freeman to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

1:08 p.m. The Senate is now in recess until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly caucus lunches.

1:07 p.m. By a vote of 61-36, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Lindsey Ann Freeman to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

12:18 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Lindsey Ann Freeman to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

  • Senators Duckworth, Fetterman and Gallego did not vote.
  • Democrat Senators, Durbin, Hassan, Kaine (I), King, Peters, Rosen, Shaheen, and Whitehouse voted in favor.

12:16 p.m. By a vote of 53-45, the Senate confirmed David A. Bragdon to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

  • The vote was party line and Senators Duckworth and Fetterman did not vote.

11:31 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of David A. Bragdon to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

11:21 a.m. Senator Justice spoke on the attack on the two West Virginia National Guard members.

8:30 a.m. Senator Collins spoke on federal employees with work related injuries.

10:53 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke on health insurance costs.

10:46 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on his Thanksgiving meal with Wyoming members of the military in Germany. He then spoke on border control.

10:27 a.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on health care costs.

10:18 a.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on President Trump’s pardon and release of Honduran ex-president Juan Orlando Hernández.

10:02 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke on the two national guard recently attacked in Washington, D.C.

10:00 a.m. The Senate is now in session.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of David A. Bragdon to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Lindsey Ann Freeman to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.

Following the vote on the Freeman nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Freeman nomination.
