At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Matthews nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #94 William Kimmitt, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade.
Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked on the Kimmitt nomination, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #274 Susan Monarez, of Wisconsin, to be Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If cloture is invoked on the Monarez nomination, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the Monarez nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #85 Sam Brown, of Nevada, to be Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Memorial Affairs. If cloture is invoked on the Brown nomination, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.
