The Senate will convene at 10 a.m. and will resume consideration of the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 (S. 1).

At 3:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on McConnell Amendment #65 to the Middle East bill, expressing the sense of the Senate that a precipitous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria or Afghanistan could jeopardize hard-won gains against terrorist groups in those countries.

On Tuesday, Majority Leader McConnell filed cloture on the his sense of the Senate amendment regarding withdrawal of United States forces from Syria and Afghanistan (#65).

No roll call votes are expected in the Senate today.

Absent a time agreement, the cloture vote on the amendment will occur one hour after the Senate convenes on Thursday.
