6:05 p.m.  The Senate reached an unanimous consent agreement on Ukraine aid with final passage vote expected on Thursday, March 27th.

Agreement is as follows:
The Senate proceeded to consideration of HR 4152, Ukraine Aid bill (house passed version) and offered a Menendez/Corker Substitute Amendment #2867 to the bill. On Thursday, March 27th, the Senate will proceed to two hours of debate and vote on  1.  Menendez/Corker Substitute Amendment 2. Final passage of HR 4152, Ukraine Aid.

On March 26th, at 11:00 a.m. Senate will have 4 cloture votes on the following nominations:

    • cal. 581 Christopher Reid Cooper, DC, to be US District Judge for DC
    • cal. 582 M. Douglas Harpool, MS, to be US District Judge for Western District of MS
    • cal. 583 Gerald Austin McHugh, Jr., PA, to be US District Judge for Eastern District of PA
    • cal. 584 Edward G. Smith, PA, to be US District Judge for Eastern District of PA

At 2:30 p.m. Senate will proceed to vote on above nominations in which cloture was invoked.

Senate will then vote on:

    • cal. 694 Joseph William Westphal, NY, to be Ambassador of US to Saudi Arabia

12:45 pm: The Senate has recessed until 2:15 pm.  At 2:15 the Senate will resume consideration of the Ukraine Aid bill, (S. 2124) post-cloture.

The Senate will convene at 10 a.m.

After one hour of morning business, the Senate will resume post-cloture debate on the Ukraine bill (S. 2124).

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. for weekly policy luncheons.

Cloture was filed last week on these nominations:

    • Christopher Reid Cooper to be a United States District Judge for D.C.
    • M. Douglas Harpool to be a United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri
    • Gerald Austin McHugh, Jr. to be a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
    • Edward G. Smith to be a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania

 The majority leader has indicated that the Senate will soon consider the Ukraine aid bill (S. 2124), the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2014 (S. 2148), the Medicare sustainable growth rate (“Doc Fix”) legislation, and nominations.
