5:47 p.m. Senator Mikulski spoke about passage of the CR and a new budget deal.

5:20 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke about above- and below- ground gas in the U.S.

5:00 p.m. Senator Cardin spoke about global warming.

3:50 p.m. Senator Tester spoke against the Mil-Con appropriations bill.

10:36 a.m. Senator Thune spoke on positive train control, and later paid tribute to former governor of South Dakota Walter Dale Miller.

10:33 a.m. ML McConnell called up and filed cloture on the motion to proceed to HR 2029, the Military Construction/Veterans Affairs Department Appropriations.

10:32 a.m. Motion to concur in relation to HR 719 (CR through December 11) agreed to 78-20.  No votes: Blunt, Boozman, Burr, Coats, Cotton, Crapo, Cruz, Heller, Inhofe, Lankford, Lee, Moran, Paul, Risch, Sasse, Scott, Sessions, Shelby, Toomey, and Vitter.  Senators Graham and Rubio did not vote.  

10:01 a.m. The Senate began voting on the Motion to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to accompany H.R. 719 with amendment #2689 (CR through December 11).

9:59 a.m. Amendment #2690 was withdrawn by unanimous consent.

9:47 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about the CR.

9:35 a.m. Minority Leader Reid spoke about the continuing resolution.

9:32 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell paid tribute to Rep. Ed Whitfield and spoke about the continuing resolution.


The Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m.; and following any leader time, resume consideration of the motion to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 719, with the further amendment #2689, the CR through December 11th.
