6:02 p.m. — The Senate passed S. Res 342, designating February 3- 7 as National School Counseling Week by unanimous consent.

2:19 p.m. — On a vote of 67 to 32, the Senate passed the flood insurance bill, S. 1926, as amended.

12:28 p.m. — On a vote of 49 to 50, the Senate rejected a Heller amendment to make clear that certain private flood insurance policies satisfy a mandatory purchase provision of the Flood Insurance Act of 197.

12:05 p.m.  — On a vote of 24 to 75, the Senate rejected a Coburn amendment to let states opt out of the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers.

1:51 p.m. — The majority leader filed cloture on the farm bill. He said a cloture vote will occur at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 3. If cloture is invoked, the vote on final passage of the farm bill will occur at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4.

11:44 a.m. — On a vote of 34 to 65, the Senate rejected a Toomey amendment to phase in certain rate increases for flood insurance.

10:45 a.m. — The Senate has scheduled a vote on final passage of S. 1926 for 1:50 pm.  They will return from recess at 1:50 pm, ten minutes earlier than previously scheduled.

Sen. Reid said leadership will work today on an agreement to take up the Farm Bill conference report.

9:00 a.m.  — The Senate will convene at 10:00 AM and resume consideration of S. 1926, the Flood Insurance Affordability Act. at 11:15 the Senate will proceed to vote on the following amendments:

    • Coburn amendment to allow States to opt out of participation in the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers. (#2697)
    • Merkley amendment to establish limitations on force-placed insurance. (#2709, as modified)
    • Heller-Lee amendment to clarify that any private flood insurance policy accepted by a State shall satisfy the mandatory purchase requirement under the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973. (#2700)
    • Toomey amendment to adjust phase-ins of flood insurance rate increases. (#2707, as modified)

Following disposition of those votes the Senate will recess until 2:00 p.m.

At 2:00 p.m., the Senate will proceed to vote on passage of S. 1926
