6:08 p.m.  The Senate adjourned until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14.  The Senate will recess from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.for an all Senators briefing with Secretary of State Kerry.   The Senate will recess again from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for weekly policy lunches.

In wrap-up the Senate adopted S. Res. 131 Gold Star Wives Day and S. Res. 133 National Public Health Week.

6:06 p.m. Alfred Bennett was confirmed US District Judge for the Southern District of Texas by a roll call vote of 95-0.

5:33 p.m. Roll call vote began on the nomination of Alfred Bennett to be a US District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.

4:35 p.m. Senator Sessions spoke on the House passed “doc fix”.

4:07 p.m Senator Booker spoke about marriage equality.

3:50 p.m. Senator Brown spoke on Ohio museums.

2:46 p.m. Senator Nelson spoke about his recent visit to Honduras, including discussions on sexual trafficking.

2:11 p.m. Senator Hatch spoke about the “doc fix.”

2:10 p.m. The presiding officer (Senator Cotton) noted the receipt of President Obama’s message on his veto of on S.J. Res. 8,  regarding National Labor Relations Board rules,  and reported that procedural steps have been taken to make it in order for consideration by April 30.

2:03 p.m. Minority Leader Reid spoke about the health care law, the nomination of Loretta Lynch to the attorney general and the Medicare “doc fix.”

• The Senate will convene at 2:00pm and proceed to a period of morning business until 5:00pm.

• At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session in order to consider the nomination of Alfred Bennett to be a US District Judge for the Southern District of Texas, with thirty minutes for debate, with a roll call vote on confirmation expected at approximately 5:30pm.

• If the Senate receives a veto message with respect to S.J. Res 8 (The National Labor Relations Board relating to representation case procedures) from the President, the message will be considered read, printed in the Record, spread in full upon the Journal, and held at the desk. At a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, with the concurrence of the Democratic Leader, but not later than Thursday, April 30, 2015, it will be in order for the Senate to proceed to its consideration.
