6:23 p.m.  The Senate adjourned until 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, February 26th.  Following the prayer and pledge, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R. 240, Department of Homeland Security appropriations.

During wrap-up, S. Res. 86 was passed by unanimous consent, designating March 3rd as the Navy Reserve Centennial.

4:15 p.m. Senator Menendez spoke about the Ukraine Freedom Support Act.

3:40 p.m. Senator Leahy spoke about DHS appropriations.

3:22 p.m. Senator Sanders spoke about the Budget and social justice.

3:20 p.m. Senator Shaheen spoke about DHS appropriations.

3:15 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the MTP to H.R. 240, DHS approps by a vote of 98 to 2. Senators Inhofe and Sessions voted were the 2 no votes.

2:45 p.m. ML McConnell outlined an unanimous consent agreement to move forward on H.R. 240, DHS appropriations. The Senate is now voting on a cloture motion on the motion to proceed to H.R. 240.

2:20 p.m. Senators Alexander and Mikulski spoke about education.

12:50 p.m. The Senate recessed until 2:00 p.m.

12:40 p.m. Senator Blunt spoke about the Texas immigration lawsuit against President Obama.

11:55 a.m. Senator Nelson spoke on the “stingray” device being used by police and the FBI; and the right of privacy.

11:33 a.m. Senators Cornyn and Markey spoke on DHS funding and immigration.

11:08 a.m. Senators McCain and Graham engaged in a colloquy about the Middle East.

10:29 a.m. The chair (Senator Cotton) called the Senate to order.

10:27 a.m. Senator McCain sought a recess, subject to the call f the chair, in order to bring a visiting dignitary to the floor.

10:06 a.m. Durbin noted the 25th anniversary of the smoking ban on airplanes.

9:59 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke about the Senate Western Caucus.

9:36 a.m. Senator Coats spoke about wasteful federal spending.

9:32 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke on the president’s Keystone veto, his executive action on immigration and the Homeland Security spending bill.
