6:26 p.m. On a vote of 82 to 12, the Senate invoked cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 2363, the sportsmen’s bill.

6:03  p.m. On a vote of 93 to 0, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Cheryl Ann Krause of New Jersey to be a judge on the the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court.

5:20 p.m. Senator Casey spoke in favor of Cheryl Ann Krause’s nomination to the 3d U.S. Circuit Court.

5:13 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on foster care.

5:02 p.m. Senator Hagan spoke in favor of S. 2363, her bill to expand opportunities for hunting and fishing.

4:54 Senator Blumenthal spoke about gun violence.

4:40 p.m. Senator Murphy spoke against cloture on the Sportsmens Bill, and about gun violence, and a new ban on guns in Target stores.

4:07 p.m. Senator Coats spoke about the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision.

4:01 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about immigration and the crisis at the border.

4:00 p.m. The Senate passed S. Res 470 by voice vote.  The resolution clarifies the responsibility of Senate committees in nominations in the intelligence community.

2:45 p.m. Senator Sessions spoke about immigration. the crisis at the border and his opposition to President Obama’s recent statements about immigration enforcement policy.

2:00 p.m.   Senator Reid spoke about legislative delays.

The Senate will convene at 2 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., there will be two votes:

— Confirmation of the nomination of Cheryl Ann Krause of New Jersey to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit;

— Cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 2363, the sportsmen’s bill.
